Pollution Prevention in the Environmental Restoration Program

This Web site is intended to provide you with the tools, guidance, and resources needed to aggressively evaluate your cleanup project for P2/WMin opportunities and alternatives. Successful integration of these opportunities will help to reduce your waste volumes and project costs. This Web site will provide you with concrete examples of how P2 has assisted remediation and decommissioning project teams in developing more efficient and cost-saving initiatives within their project planning and field implementation activities.

As you are aware, DOE's cleanup actions have generally resulted in increased volumes of wastes at sites across the complex. Reducing these waste volumes and related life cycle costs are paramount to meeting DOE's strategic goals. P2 has been recognized as a key mechanism to help meet those goals. The Pollution Prevention Team has developed the tools to assist cleanup personnel in implementing P2/WMin into each environmental restoration project.

As you browse the site, keep an open mind to the possibilities for integrating P2/WMin into your project. If you would like to request a P2 assessment of your project or activity by a P2 Expert Team, or would like to request a training session for employees, or just want to supply some feedback on the information provided on this Web site, please respond to Greg McBrien at: Gregory.McBrien@em.doe.gov
