Fundamentals of the Computerized Accident/Incident Reporting System CAIRS) and CAIRS Direct Data Entry Training


Course Description: In this course students will learn the basic skills necessary to begin using the Computerized Accident/Incident Reporting System. The 8-hour session will include a general introduction to input and output features available to CAIRS users. This course is intended for DOE and DOE contractor employees with current recordkeeping and reporting responsibilities. Completion of the course will satisfy the training requirement in DOE Order 231.1B, Environment, Safety and Health Reporting.

Course Objective: This hands-on computer training is instructor led and designed to provide participants with an overview of CAIRS. Through discussion and exercises participants will learn how to complete and revise the electronic reporting forms. Participants will also learn how to generate various reports that can be used for data validation and analysis.

Course Audience: Attendance is limited to DOE and DOE contractor employees with current recordkeeping and reporting responsibilities. (Cost =$0)
