NSR&D Proposal Process and ResultsNSR&D Proposal Process The NSR&D Committee developed proposal instructions that outline the key information required for proposal submissions to the NSR&D Program. The NSR&D Program proposals submitted are expected to have a Department-wide benefit in support of safe nuclear facility design, construction and/or operations. The objective of these proposals should be to acquire the data necessary to demonstrate proof of concept or reduction of risk for high consequence, low probability events. The topics must have a demonstrated potential to:
Fiscal Year 2013 Call for Proposals On January 10, the NSR&D Program initiated its 2013 Call for proposals. The Call is open to all Department organizations. Proposals should meet the NSR&D criteria established in the NSR&D Program Operating Plan, and should ensure that appropriate Program Office management is aware and supportive of the research. Proposals are due to the NSR&D Program Manager by February 15, 2013. All submissions should be sent to nsrdprogram@hq.doe.gov. Information dates back to R&D conducted under the Manhattan Project. Once R&D results are incorporated into the DOE databases, they are made available to single-point-of-access web portals such as the Science Accelerator and the Science Research Connection, which are managed by OSTI. Through these efforts, OSTI is nationally and internationally recognized for its contributions to the sharing and exchange of science information, the results of billions of dollars worth of government-sponsored scientific research.
