years Voluntary Protection Program Participants
Association
(VPPPA) Conference. More than 1500 representatives
from leading companies in safety and health
excellence are expected to participate in the 16th Annual
Conference that will be held in Seattle, Washington,
on August 28 - 31, 2000. The highlight of this
four-day event will be an exchange of the latest best practices
for workplace safety and health, and environmental
protection. Featured speakers include Charles
Jeffress, Assistant Secretary for the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration and Bob Bigony,
Senior Vice President of Motorola, Inc. The Department
of Energy will sponsor presentations on safety
excellence within security operations, an overview of
corporate-wide successes with VPP, a session on maintaining
VPP excellence through programmatic changes
and a presentation on DOEs Integrated Safety Management
System and how it helps sites achieve VPP recognition.
